The future talent was born in a large family, he was the fifth child. This event took place in the capital of Italy in the second month of winter in 1938. The family was poor and at the time of the birth of Adriano, the parents were already middle-aged. At the age of twelve, the boy loses his father, and this fact and the desire for material well-being make him leave school and go to work for his uncle (watch repairman) as an apprentice.
Despite the difficult financial situation of the family, Adriano did not hang his nose and did not give it to others. His appearance always caused laughter from those around him, and when he entered the image of a clown, everyone just rolled with laughter. The boy’s mother did not like this frivolity, and for this he received a lot of cracks. It was not possible to re-educate him. In those years, he was very fond of the famous D. Lewis and often imitated him. When he was caught in the image of his sister, she sent this photo to the show of doubles. Adriano was lucky to win this competition and get a super prize – 100 thousand lire.
In parallel with the profession of a watchmaker, the boy was interested in music. After the release of B. Haley’s song “Rock Around the Clock”, he became interested in rock and roll. Mother also liked this direction in music, she listened to it in the morning and everyone woke up. Then Adriano and his friends organized his own rock band, whose repertoire he replenished with his own compositions. He received significant assistance in this matter from Miki Del Prete, who became his producer.
Path to Glory
For fame, the group needed fans, and in 1957 Andriano and his friends gave a performance at the initial festival in Italy, which was dedicated to rock and roll. Unlike English-speaking performers, the Rock Boys group offers their composition in Italian and wins. A year has passed and they again win the judges in Ancona, and all thanks to the performance of the song “Your kiss is like rock.” For further work, Celentano decides to start cooperation with the Jolly company, but not for long, as he was called up for military service.
He enters the next competition, held in San Remo, in 1961 as an exception by order of the Minister of Defense, where with the song “24000 baci” he will receive second place instead of first, as the judges will find his habit of standing with his back to the audience unsightly, but all the song will become popular. After this victory, Celentano will stop working with the Jolly studio and create his own recording studio, the Celentano Clan campaign and his own sign, and will attract friends and acquaintances to work.
A year later, they will win the Katajiro contest with the song “You are far from me”, and then they will travel around Italy and France. 1966 was a significant year for Andriano, it was then, participating in a competition in San Remo, that he would glorify his favorite Gluck street with a song. And from that time on, he will begin to compose and sing songs of a socio-political nature. In the 60s and 70s, this song theme will continue, he will gain interest and support in many European countries.
As an actor, Celentano is quite in demand. He began his acting career in 1959 and has been in films playing himself ever since. This was followed by tapes where he portrayed a rock musician (“Sweet Life”), was a swindler dressed as a monk (“Monza Monza”), a robber (“Super Robbery in Milan”), a guy from the village (“Serafino”) and others . Having finished with cinema in the 90s, Celentano completely switched to music. His collaboration with the artist Mina was marked by great success, their joint disc is sold in huge quantities – millions of copies.

Private life
Despite the charisma and the millionth army of fans around the world, Adriano Celentano is faithful to his only wife, Claudia Mori. The place of their meeting was the film set, the film “Some Strange Type” was being filmed, when the actress was a nineteen-year-old girl and was preparing to marry a football player.
